A Visit To Niagara Falls

It was about time, having a day or two outside of the daily routine… who doesn’t want that from time to time too. This post will not talk about how my Fitness Journey is going or which kind of supplement I take and not even what my latest recipe is but rather sharing with you guys one of the most wonderful place in the world.

I love the nature and sometimes I think I would even love to leave in a forest without anything rather than food, water and fire 🔥 leaving like our old brothers…. What you think would be an amazing experience?

This past days I been visiting Niagara Falls, OMG… I am not going to be here telling you the story because I am sure you can find it anywhere but rather than share some nice pictures of the falls.

Everything was really nice and if you go there one day I definitely suggest to take the boat tour and go to see the falls during the dark ours and be inspired from how they are lighted.

What I been struggle with during my visit was be able to make an healthy food choice and learning from this I will need to look for places to eat before even starting the trip next time or perhaps get some meals delivered to the hotel from one of this meal prep company. It is incredible the amount of junk food available and so poor choice of simple food, overall I decided to enjoy the trip and that’s all.

The good think was that although I haven’t lift during this time I have definitely got in some good amounts of steps in a day and burned some of those calories.

I hope you guys loved this experience sharing and me to come out from the usual fitness post. I would love to hear if you liked what you have seen.

Finding Myself Again

True, has been a while since my last post and to be honest with you all I was even thinking to quit.

Lately, I been in the “Finding Myself Again” way, not sure how to explain this but after my knee injury and the recovery that took almost six months, I found myself with my fitness goals on a huge setback and lack of motivation.

Yes, I gained weight and although I am not really happy about this, I tent to believe that this is ok, is just part of this Journey.

My working schedule has changed as well during this time and with the workout regime I was following, soon I find to be in over-training! How did I realize I was? Well, soon I find out that one of the signs was tiredness and I also started to suffer from insomnia so I decided to ease off a bit.

I also realized that I cannot train on three consecutive days but I need a day off in between so perhaps two-day training and one-off, I would like to hear if it is for you guys the same.

Although I am in my fitness journey since one and a half year, there is always something to learn and one of the take points in this journey is to listen to your body and take your time without rushing the process.

We are not all the same and perhaps what works for me doesn’t for you, important is to find out what works!

Silverio Bike Ride + 200 Followers

Bike 🚴 who ever thought I was going for a 16 miles ride a few months ago.

Actually, in all honesty, I didn’t even know I was going to have a road bike until a few weeks ago.

Let me tell you a bit of story, I was searching online trying to find a method for commute, my attention at first went to consider a Hoverboard, you know one of this little electric skate and in all honesty, the reason behind was try to save money.

Looking at the prices, a Hoverboard would have cost approximately 150$ but then he is not waterproof and the winter is coming. I wanted something that I could use all year around and so I started to look into a Bike as a commute means.

Buying a brand new bike without know if I would have liked didn’t seems to be a pretty good idea, so I decided to have a safer approach and look online I used the OfferUp App or Website for this research and I found a really nice bike, the frame was just made for my size so I setup the appointment and voila! I got a beautiful Giant OCR 3 2002 Model.

The adventure started and well the first time I tried to go to work on my bike I figure out that during the ride I did the day before I got a flat. In my teenager experience when I tried to fix a flat I been never successful so I decided to play safe that day and head at work by walking as I had always done before and promised to myself that I would repair the tire once home and take my time.

I had bought one of those bike kit days before, I always think on the If during my journey and try to don’t be unprepared on what comes next, however, the patch kit that was provided (Glueless Patch) was not of that much help. Luckily it happens now when I had time to make further research and found out what works and what not, what are the brand that they do what they promise. Good enough I got a new patch kit and a brand new inner tube. You probably are you asking why I got a new inner tube? I figure out that having an extra inner tube would have allowed me to just change the tube on the go in case of flat and still repair the other one at home although I will still carry on with me the kit in case the faith will play smart… haha!

Today I join my first Bike Club Ride, I found this online and they offer plenty of free rides (cascade.org) I really enjoy this morning, it was really nice to meet new people, socialize and see new places that for sure in a car you cannot see!

I started the App late during the ride, I will keep this in mind for next time!

Why I join a Club for a ride?

Well, first of all, is free and let’s don’t hide it but nowadays everything you do you need to pay and honestly that sucks. There are tons of bills to pay and life here is so expensive in general that finding something for free already brings good humor! 😜

The second part and perhaps also the most important is socializing, meet new nice people and share something in common. There is a lot to learn and a lot you can give back too! I am not going in many details here but I have learned a lot today and was only my first ride and I feel like I have left something too.

Exercise, you all know by now if you have looked and read the pages of my blog that I am in my fitness journey and for me, this was one of the most fun ways to include some cardio in my fitness regime.

I will definitely look online few the next ride, for sure I am not ready yet for one of those hill killing ride but I will focus in the next weeks to gain strength and try one day, only in this way you will know your limits!

I also want to take the opportunity to say Thanks to all of you, following my blog! Today I have reached 200 Followers and to me this is AMAZING, thanks for the support, thanks for reading my blog. I do hope you guys are getting some value out of this too.

Summer Time + Chest/Back Workout

It’s summer and I wanted to have a bit of break to my “Clean Eating” I know this will probably slow down my weight loss progress but I think I should live a bit as well and enjoy the life with all the shades.

I wanted to enjoy the weekends with my wife and taste all the food that is out there, I think is important too and this is what is so-called be human.

The other day I went to a farm to pick up the raspberries and we had a nice dinner with some friends, I realize that I cannot always say no to the invitations only because I have to stick to my meal plan and fitness journey.

Overall I am happy with my progress and way to be, although I haven’t followed everything on the 100% side I have not gained much weight, I am still going strong on workouts and watching my macros closely during the week.

Sometimes I plan to save a few hundred calories each day during the weekend and this is definitely helping when during the weekend I have some extra.

I bought a bike and I am really enjoying the rides so far, I am taking the opportunity the explore part of the city in the nature that I have never looked so far and including my cardio in a more fun way. I am also going to work on the bike and tomorrow I will have my first ride bike with a club, must be really fun.

Today, was my Chest and Back day here is what I have done

  • Bent Over Barbell Row 4×10
  • Barbell Bench Press 4×12
  • Lateral Pulldown 4×12
  • T-Bar Row 4×12
  • Butterflys4x12
  • Cardio 15 Minutes

I am experimenting more in the kitchen and have tried more ways to prepare my food just to be out of the monotony.

Let’s Come Back Strong

WoW, it has been really a while from my last post and I have just realized today how fast the time has been passing by without leaving my words.

So let’s start with saying that my working schedule lately has been a no stop between night and day shift of 12 hours I barely had time to focus on meal prep and knee rehab.

Having spent much time lately in the gym either, again working schedule and various other things have taken the priority but definitely, I am planning to go back on track soon rather than later.

After today night shift and a few hours of sleep, I will have my third “Bridge” session for my knee rehab. Need to say that although I am not yet at the 100%, I am slowly getting better and see results, I guess that all of this has brought me down as well in the last few months resulting in lack of motivation.

The good thing has been that although I haven’t followed my workout schedule as such, I have mostly kept up with the healthy and clean eating and this has helped a lot not only to don’t gain much fat but to don’t lose my gains either.

So let’s come back strong…

Where I Been!

It has been a while since my last post!

Lack of motivation? I don’t really know… but a lot of things have been going on lately, and I felt like I wanted to have a little break from everything. A short break from Instagram a break from this blog from the healthy lifestyle and from the workout routine.

IMG_7186.JPG

In this last month or so I been focusing solely on my right knee rehab it seems better now but still sometimes looks like I make one step ahead only to come two back. Can’t rain forever isn’t it?

I also enjoyed some little extra food and visited new places I was really missing a bit of fun with my wife.

Time is now to go back on track with my healthy regime and to be honest my body is really asking for it so today I went vegetarian and cooked some Tofu with Rice and Asparagus.

IMG_4838.JPG

Next Monday is the cut off day back to the workout routine, and to the 100% meal plan, of course, I still need to be careful about my right knee, but for this, I will have some extra classes in another gym starting in the next two weeks.

Well, fellow, for now, that’s all …

Silverio Styling A Bonsai Tree

I know this weekend I have been out from the usual week fitness post but I have been doing something I was not doing from such a long time…. enjoy some time off with my wife and dusting off one of my oldest passion…. styling a Bonsai Tree.

Buying a Bonsai Tree already styled and in a good shape can be expensive and I believe many of you know what I am talking about but honestly where is the fun I do like to make things myself and so Friday I went to The Home Depot nursery section to see if I could find a tree to style in Bonsai.

The search went one for almost an hour and I came back home with this Dwarf Alberta Spruce…

IMG_9677.JPG

The first thing I did is study the tree and see the potentiality than I start to clean the tree to keep looking what I could have achieved…. here is after the initial cleaning…

IMG_8667

At this stage, I had a more clear vision of what I would have done and accomplish and so my final piece of art ….

IMG_9177

I have shaped and repotted the tree this is the front, of course, this is just the beginning and more works need to be done but for this year that’s all see you to the next spring before I will touch it again for now just water and fertilize to set a strong base for 2019.

Today, as a motivational Monday back to my workout routine and working on my knee rehabs.

I Am Carb Cycling

If you guys have been following me for a while now, you all know that I was in a bulk regime for the last 3 months and that I planned to switch on a cutting face after this period.

There are different ways out there to lose weight and all of them promise miracles, however, the only way to succeed is always to do what is best for you in fact if you are in a losing weight journey it doesn’t really matter which kind of diet or meal plan you are following as long as you are in a caloric deficit you will lose weight, the take point here is, do what is best for you every one of us is different… You need to try!

My previous cut was more kind of getting the same amount of deficit calory each and every day but this time around I have decided to carb cycling… have you guys ever heard of this before? If not… fasten your seat belt and let’s talk about it.

Carb cycling means you eat a higher amount of carbs one particular day and the other days will be with lower amount of carbs this will be planned and throughout your weeks. Now, there are different ways to do this, I have read of people eating high carb every time they have a workout day and having a low carb day during the rest day.

When you exercise, your body dips into your carb stores for energy, so naturally, your high carb days would align with training days, when your body can best utilize that fuel. That can be a great thing, because an extra push during your workout means you can go harder for longer, burning more calories overall.

Now my approach is slightly different because I am trying to teach my body to use my fat storage during my training day so I have low carb day during those days and high carb day two times a week at my maintenance calory in this way I will replenish my energy.

What is your thought on Carb Cycling? Have you have ever done this before and if yes what was the results? I am hoping to have great results in the months to come so stay tuned.

Silverio One Year After & Life Update

It is one year that I have started my fitness journey and I have come a long way. After I lost almost 15 kilos, I decided that was time to make some gains and I started my off-season. My current weight is 71,2 kg and my scale says that my body fat percentage is at 22,7%  I am really happy with my gains, honestly if I were more skin I would keep going with my bulk for at least other 3 months but I don’t wish to gain more than the inevitable fat that you gain in the off-season regime.

Recently I injured my right knee and funny enough was not at the gym but during a night out with friends and playing bowling, so no much of leg day in the last few weeks, disappointing. After few weeks the pain is definitely less but I believe I have to wait few more weeks before starting easy back on legs, let’s see what the doctor will say today.

I have talked on previous post that I was feeling down and without much of energy lately and that my sleep was not as much as before if you have never considered like me previously to get some ZMA than give it a try because for me worked and I am extremely satisfied with the results.

Today is sunny outside, being in Seattle is very rare but I know that slowly with the summer time we going to have more days like this, this is what I probably miss the most from my home country.

If you haven’t watch my latest YouTube video here is the link – Click Here! I know I was not that much energic and I still need to find myself on the camera but I guess is just matter of time and trust the process.

Jacked Pack Subscription Box Review March 2018

I know I am late on this and is almost time for the next package to arrive, but here I am with another review of the Jacked Pack Subscription Box.

  • 360 Pre Workout Activator, gives you a good energy and seems like to have a great taste, I have received the same product also the previous month and I have to say that I would have liked to receive something different this time. After I have been using it a couple of times I can also say that is not one of my favorite but does his job.
  • REGENETOR is a complete rebuilding system formulated with compounds intended to help modulate the temporary pain and inflammation that result from heavy-duty training. The product is a stimulant-free formula suitable for use any time day or night, during and after workouts to kick-start muscle recovery, between meals to keep nitrogen levels topped-off, and/or before going to bed to help combat catabolism while you sleep.
  • CrampsAWAY claims to stop your cramps within a minute and if taken before the exercise will prevent them to, I am not suffering on cramps but if some one out there is I guess why not to try it.

  • Thermo Detonator is a fat-loss product the product claim to preserve maximum lean muscle which is not bad if this happen to be true. Review onlie are majority of 5 star is I guess is worth the try.

  • My Pro JYM protein powder is made from the highest-quality sources of protein and each scoop of Pro JYM delivers 24 grams of pure-quality protein. The blend itself is not bad I love the fact that each scoop gives you a mix of different kind of protein such as Whey, Casein, Milk and Egg White however I really don’t like the taste of this protein in this flavor ROOT BEER FLOAT and since I had received already an example in my first box I would have loved to get a different flavor for this.

  • The Detour Smart bar is a quality source of fiber and whey protein. It got the apple cinnamon flavor and I can’t white to give it a bite. This is a healthy alternative to regular sugary snacks.

In conclusion I am bit disappointed with this month selection since there are a list of supplement that I had already received in the previous months.

I hope you guys enjoyed this review, as usual, leave a comment below if you feel like and thanks for reading and support this blog.

ZMA – What Is And Why You Should Supplement It

Good day followers, I know I am a bit late on my weekly post but here I am to share another piece of the fitness puzzle.

In today post I would like to talk about one of the supplements that not many out there know the importance of why to include it in the list of the supplement to take daily, I am talking of the ZMA.

nutrabio-zma-large

The ZMA is the combination of Zinc monomethionine/aspartate and Magnesium Aspartate. Many athletes and generic people think that the ZMA is a testosterone booster but in reality is not, is only the most effective way to supplement two critical minerals, Zinc and Magnesium. Researchers, however, shows that athlete has increased the level of testosterone of more than a 30%.

One of the reasons why I have implemented the ZMA in my supplement list is because lately I was always feeling tired and my sleep quality was really bad, making some research I found out that integrating my diet with the ZMA would have helped on my sleep quality.

Research has also confirmed that athletes are often deficient in both zinc and magnesium. This is most likely due to several factors, such as zinc lost through sweat during training, increased use of zinc by the body for recovery and protein synthesis following training, and an increased loss of zinc through urine.

Are you integrating with ZMA? What are the benefits you have noticed taking the ZMA? Leave a comment and let’s discuss.
