I Am Carb Cycling

If you guys have been following me for a while now, you all know that I was in a bulk regime for the last 3 months and that I planned to switch on a cutting face after this period.

There are different ways out there to lose weight and all of them promise miracles, however, the only way to succeed is always to do what is best for you in fact if you are in a losing weight journey it doesn’t really matter which kind of diet or meal plan you are following as long as you are in a caloric deficit you will lose weight, the take point here is, do what is best for you every one of us is different… You need to try!

My previous cut was more kind of getting the same amount of deficit calory each and every day but this time around I have decided to carb cycling… have you guys ever heard of this before? If not… fasten your seat belt and let’s talk about it.

Carb cycling means you eat a higher amount of carbs one particular day and the other days will be with lower amount of carbs this will be planned and throughout your weeks. Now, there are different ways to do this, I have read of people eating high carb every time they have a workout day and having a low carb day during the rest day.

When you exercise, your body dips into your carb stores for energy, so naturally, your high carb days would align with training days, when your body can best utilize that fuel. That can be a great thing, because an extra push during your workout means you can go harder for longer, burning more calories overall.

Now my approach is slightly different because I am trying to teach my body to use my fat storage during my training day so I have low carb day during those days and high carb day two times a week at my maintenance calory in this way I will replenish my energy.

Silverio One Year After & Life Update

It is one year that I have started my fitness journey and I have come a long way. After I lost almost 15 kilos, I decided that was time to make some gains and I started my off-season. My current weight is 71,2 kg and my scale says that my body fat percentage is at 22,7%  I am really happy with my gains, honestly if I were more skin I would keep going with my bulk for at least other 3 months but I don’t wish to gain more than the inevitable fat that you gain in the off-season regime.

Recently I injured my right knee and funny enough was not at the gym but during a night out with friends and playing bowling, so no much of leg day in the last few weeks, disappointing. After few weeks the pain is definitely less but I believe I have to wait few more weeks before starting easy back on legs, let’s see what the doctor will say today.

I have talked on previous post that I was feeling down and without much of energy lately and that my sleep was not as much as before if you have never considered like me previously to get some ZMA than give it a try because for me worked and I am extremely satisfied with the results.

Today is sunny outside, being in Seattle is very rare but I know that slowly with the summer time we going to have more days like this, this is what I probably miss the most from my home country.

I know I am late on this and is almost time for the next package to arrive, but here I am with another review of the Jacked Pack Subscription Box.

  • My Pro JYM protein powder is made from the highest-quality sources of protein and each scoop of Pro JYM delivers 24 grams of pure-quality protein. The blend itself is not bad I love the fact that each scoop gives you a mix of different kind of protein such as Whey, Casein, Milk and Egg White however I really don’t like the taste of this protein in this flavor ROOT BEER FLOAT and since I had received already an example in my first box I would have loved to get a different flavor for this.

  • The Detour Smart bar is a quality source of fiber and whey protein. It got the apple cinnamon flavor and I can’t white to give it a bite. This is a healthy alternative to regular sugary snacks.

In conclusion I am bit disappointed with this month selection since there are a list of supplement that I had already received in the previous months.

ZMA – What Is And Why You Should Supplement It

Good day followers, I know I am a bit late on my weekly post but here I am to share another piece of the fitness puzzle.

In today post I would like to talk about one of the supplements that not many out there know the importance of why to include it in the list of the supplement to take daily, I am talking of the ZMA.

The ZMA is the combination of Zinc monomethionine/aspartate and Magnesium Aspartate. Many athletes and generic people think that the ZMA is a testosterone booster but in reality is not, is only the most effective way to supplement two critical minerals, Zinc and Magnesium. Fumfie.com – My Experience And How I Ended Up There

Since I have started my YouTube Channel, I haven’t made much more than two videos. My idea was to run the channel for a bit of time with my phone but soon I realized that was not really the best decision I had ever made.

The first problem that I encounter was the battery duration in fact my second video which was a Full Day Of Eating On A Bulk saw my iPhone constantly in recharge mode after every single shooting, not really a great spot to be.

Soon after I face the memory problem and shooting duration, in fact it appear that the iPhone doesn’t record more that certain time frame and the memory went down very soon too, although that is an easy fix with just deleting the previous shooting was just annoying.

Before I started the channel I had purchased an external Microphone, the RODE MIC with in mind a future upgrade on a camera. I wanted something not really big, that would support the RODE MIC or any external microphone really and that I could have used for video shooting and photography on the go.

Canon EOS M3

My choice went and is on the CANON EOS M3 so I started to research the camera, saw some reviews and visited a couple of camera shopping for soon discover that the camera was old enough to don’t be found easily but in the same time not old enough to find an used or refurbished product easily either.

The objective has been always try to keep low the expenses and searching on Amazon the best price I had found for an used camera was 320$ + approximately 40$ of shipping fee from a private seller which although I wrote to him to inquiry on the status of the camera never replied back probably due to the fact that he had already sold it.

For a new product we are at 550$ ish and this took me on hold for a bit, I been really try to narrow down the price below the 500$

For some of my shopping I use EBATES, I don’t know if you guys are familiar with that but basically they give you cash back on purchases from various website, in a month I have gained 22$ on cash back and although is not much are still 22$ that I was not having before.

Without further to go an Ad came up while I was surfing EBATES on my phone and the camera of my dreams was there at 439$ claimed to be brand new and with 1 year warranty.

FumFie

I don’t usually rush on purchases as you can see I been holding on this since weeks already but that night I just went further and pressed that purchase button logged in my PayPal account and payed.

I don’t know you guys but before I never received an email after I purchase a product saying that you need to call to go further with the order, this was already smelling as a SCAM. It was late that night and the day later I would have gone to work so I promise myself to investigate further the day later.

When I searched for review on this website I immediately realized that I did a mistake there were literally tons of bad review online, from costumer service not answering calls and emails, to the up selling that they try to do when you make the famous call to the product itself to be not as original as they declare.

I was so happy that I had payed with PayPal so I called them immediately and when they tried to call the Fumfie website of course they didn’t reply so PayPal sent them an email to cancel my order. Only today, after 48 hours from my order I manage to speak with some one at Fumfie, cancelled my order and receive the email confirmation of my cancellation.

this is my experience on speaking with them:

  • The costumer agent at Fumfie tried to sell me a different product than the one I originally purchased and in the beginning tried to don’t understand when I ask to cancel my order.
  • Although the cancellation was quite easy from my expectation anyway and from what I had read on the web,  I am glad I involved PayPal from the start, I guess Fumfie had seen their email too before getting me on phone and not try to fight much on this cancellation.
  • Since I was ready to get this further in case something had gone wrong or I had not received the cancellation email as claimed on same review, I had recorded the conversation to have a proof on my hand.

I want to share my story with you all guys so you are aware to stay away from this website. My take point on this is make research on new website as I always do but failed this time and not rush on purchases.

Silverio Journey Update

Lately, I been feeling drained and without power so today I decided to take some time off from my workout regime. I wasn’t getting why I was feeling in that way but after I made some research and reflection, I came to the conclusion that I was pushing too hard.

I was wondering what has changed in my routine, why such a change was occurring and what I was doing differently than before. I came to the conclusion that although was not really apparent the working schedule that I am having since a month and a half with a new adjusted time off has really messed up with all my organization, life and workout routine.

I must adjust myself now to the new schedule, get still in my 4 times a week workout, meal prep during the day off and try to figure out a proper plan also for my YouTube channel.

So today since I took a day off from the workout to still keep the gains I have meal prep all day for the next five days … In there we have White Rice – Asparagus – Ground Turkey seasoned with barbeque powder… Yummy!

This morning I treated my self with an Egg White Sandwich, Turkey Bacon and Sweet Pepper… to be honest, this was my first time I did this sandwich and I will do it again tomorrow since I enjoy it too much.

Since I been in the kitchen almost all day, I decide to have a different afternoon snack so I did a Waffle topped with Whipped Cream and Strawberries.

4 Ways To Recover From A Cheat Day

Clean Bulking or Cutting doesn’t change my urge to get a cheat meal now and then in order to maintain my healthy lifestyle. Whether is a cheat meal, cheat day or two, how can be offset?

First of all, let me tell you why I have a cheat day or a cheat meal. Simple, it gives me a psychological break and mood boost from the stressful feeling associated with following a strict food schedule. Typically a cheat day for me is a day where I eat whatever I want and been craving for the past weeks, I can’t gain 1kg weight in one cheat day, isn’t it?

Now the take point here is if you weigh yourself after a cheat day the scale can scare you. The reason is the enormous amount of water weight you have gained in eating all that junk food, so if you are sensible don’t use the scale for the first 3 days. I have seen my weight going up to 2/3 kg after a cheat day.

Cheat meals consist of bad foods and bad foods have lots of salt or sugar – or both! The best way to bounce back after a cheat day is to flush the salt, sugar and other toxins out of your system by drinking water, lot’s of water. Try to hit your 1 Gallon of water.

The day after your cheat day listen to your body and choose a high protein and veggie day, this will help you to balance your calorie intake. Typically after a cheat day my body ask to come back to the clean eating habit, I like to include asparagus in my diet in fact if you didn’t know asparagus contains high levels of the amino acid asparagine, making it a natural diuretic.

Workout the day after a cheat day! Most people get the urge to do an intense long cardio session to feel like you’ve balanced out the bad eating. Wrong! Don’t go crazy perhaps just add an extra 20 min of cardio or add a couple of extra sets to your weight-training routine.

Have 15/20 minutes in the Sauna. One of the ways the human body removes toxins from the body is through sweat remember?, also scientific calibrations suggest that a 20-minute session at around 170 degrees Fahrenheit burns over 500 calories. The body’s metabolism speeds up similar to the way it does from physical exercise.

A cheat meal won’t hurt as long as you have a plan to regain control.

Work It – Digital Scale & Body Analyzer!

If you have read one of my previous articles, Why You Should Keep a Fitness Journal, you know that I would have loved to purchase a Body Analyzer Scale.

I have been looking forward at this purchase from months now and I decide a few weeks ago to go ahead and get one. My choice went on The Vanity Planet Work It Digital Scale & Body Analyzer. It uses BIA (Bio Impedance Analysis) technology which passes an undetectable electrical current through the body to measure your vital body composition statistics. While you stand on the stainless steel pads, Work It not only calculates your weight, but also your body fat percentage, total body water percentage, bone mass, and muscle mass. By monitoring your body’s stats on a regular basis, you can indicate opportunities for growth, and make the changes you need to your lifestyle, workout or daily routine.

Body Fat % – too little or too much body fat can negatively impact your health.

Muscle Mass – loss of muscle can decrease joint flexibility and strength as we age. Tracking muscle mass helps to ensure that weight loss is actually fat and not healthy muscle.

Bone Density – Our bones naturally weaken as we age. Drastic weight fluctuations, as can happen with a crash or yo-yo dieting, may also negatively affect bone density.

Water Weight – Water makes up more than half of our body weight, and ensures that our cells are functioning properly. Maintaining a healthy water weight ensures that you’re losing fat while staying hydrated and healthy.

You can have up to 8 users so one scale will be good for the entire family and you can choose 4 different settings Man / Athlete Man / Woman / Athlete Woman, the athlete setting is recommended for a person having 12 hours or more a week of workout. Here is my first point, I have read in various comments that the scale is quite precise. I have used at first the Athlete Man setting and found out that for me was quite erroneous so I have changed around in Man setting and is much more close to the reality or at least this what I think. In the near future I will make a DEXA Scan so I will be able to compare the values and give a precise judge on the values.

If you are wondering about the price, I have paid 49,99$ plus tax and shipping cost for a total of approximately 64$ some website shows the cost of the scale at 124$ which is just too much for this scale but 49,99$ is definitely a better deal.

The scale comes without batteries, so be prepared with 4 x AAA batteries, however be aware that for some reason the Duracell Batteries don’t work with the scale in fact I had to contact the customer care to get this information and purchase new batteries, I would have been pleased if this information would have been written somewhere when I receive the scale so I would have saved few $$.

Overall I am really happy with this purchase, although I cannot confirm yet the precision of the scale is always good to track your progress.

Jacked Pack Subscription Box Review February 2018

Hi guys and welcome to my second-month subscription box.

If you have read my previous post I’ve never really been a fan of subscription box but so far I am enjoying the Jacked Pack.

So let’s see what I got for March, shall we?

  • As you can see from the image I couldn’t really resist to the Quest Protein Cookie so I went ahead and I immediately enjoyed  it. I have to say that I was expecting a bigger cookie, however, I cannot really complain either. Total Calories are 250 and 150 are coming from fat which I think are pretty high I also believe is not a good choice if you are on a cutting diet but if you are bulking, I am sure you can fit one of those in your day and enjoy as I did.
  • This time around I only receive one serving of protein but the brand is ANIMAL and flavor is Vanilla which I don’t have at home and for sure will be good for a smoothie or a protein pancakes.

  • TOPBIT is 100% Plant-Based – 8g of Protein – Omega 3-6-9 Essential Amino Acids and Antioxidants. I have also received a promo coupon with free shipping and 20% off my order in case I would like to purchase more.

  • 360 Pre Workout Activator, gives you a good energy and seems like to have a great taste however I haven’t read much of good reviews on this one so once I try I can give my honest opinion as well, so let me know in the comment if you want me to update this article after my try.

  • Skald Oxydynamic Fat Scorcher is a Fat-Burner Supplement, I been reading some good and bad review on this product. The label says appetite control and apparently to some athlete worked and some other not. At one think I can definitely agree is the Intense Energy that this product can give having read the label.

In conclusion, I would say that I like to have a Pre-Workout Supplement rather than take a Fat-Burner since overall the Pre-Workout will help you to shred fat as well but also give that extra boost.

I did really like this month selection and I am excited to try all the samples I got. At first look I would like to maybe purchase either the Hyde NitroX Pre-Workout or the Outlift Amped, I will have a final thought once I will test them.
